Dreams can come true
Hello my name is Joanne and I will be fund raising for a beautiful friend, Dawn Harris.
On the 30/8/23 I read this post from Dawn. Through the love of Soul music we were lucky enough to be on a Facebook page.
”Hi all my lovely friends and fellow fun loving dancers! Just wanted to post and update you all on my prognosis since I last saw you, been a long time since I was there dancing and laughing.
As some of you know , I have stage 4 terminal Brain Cancer. My prognosis is short , about 12 months now, so I really want to enjoy the time I have left. The fun , friendship and laughs we have had at Butlins has been brilliant and to be there with my beloved babes Maria and Jed and all you lovelies Is the best time ever.
I look different, I don’t have the energy I used to have and won’t be lasting the whole night as before but I’m still me , I’m still the woman I’ve always been and still intend to enjoy every minute of my Butlins time .
See you all in September where we can forget the cancer and enjoy the fun.
Big Love ❤️❤️❤️”
I personally met Dawn on this weekend in September. Wow, she’s simply amazing and there’s a soul song that I will dedicate to her as we danced together “She’s a winner”.
This lady I never met until September weekend has become so special to me.
I had the urge to do a half marathon, but just couldn’t find the inspiration until meeting Dawn, enjoying herself , so determined to be amongst her family and friends. Dawn you are just the inspiration I need to get pounding on my feet again. Raising awareness and much needed funds. I have loved knowing how much this has brightened your day, your full support knowing I am doing this all because of you.
I hate running, but I hate Cancer more, so between the two of us Dawn, let’s give it our all and help kick its ar*e!!!
The money raised for this charity will help so many people lives. Please help me keep that smile on a beautiful ladies face. Dawn, your simply AMAZING.
