Meet the Stith's
Words can't justly describe what my heart feels when it comes to telling you about the Stith Family.
There is so much love, respect, admiration and apprecation for this precious family. They live life in the open. Transparent. In hopes of others seeing their faith in their lives. And yes, Yolanda, Ken, Rachel, Soon and Ben we see God shining brighly through you all.
I write today to share a bit of their story as well as a great need I am praying YOU can help meet. The Stith family is no stranger to hard times and struggles. However, the curve ball they were thrown in November has rocked this beautiful family to the core.
In November 2014, Ken was diagnosed with a brain tumor -- a level four Glioblastoma (GBM). The most aggressive type of brain tumor. Yolanda and Ken addressed the tumor aggressively with surgery (which became three surgeries due to complications), radiation, chemo and a strict diet. And it is now with a very heavy heart, that I am sad to say that the above forms of treatment have not been able to reverse the effects of the tumor and surgeries. Recently, Yolanda and Ken made the most difficult decision to discontinue treatment and move to palliative care.
My heart breaks along with the family's. Ken is walking through his final stages of life here on earth and preparing to meet our Father. With this walk comes fears and pressures of the unknown challenges that lay ahead. In all of it we know Ken will require more in-home care and that will require finances to ensure his transition is as peaceful as possible.
Please prayerfully consider any support you can offer towards helping pay for nursing and ancillary care costs that will face Yolanda and Ken in the coming weeks and months.
This journey is hard. Yolanda, Ken, Rachel, Ben and Soon are clinging to God. And they are weary. I don't want to see financial limitations keep Ken from getting the care he needs and keep my friends from experiencing peace by knowing Ken is in good hands.
Our goal is raise $30,000 which will cover costs for in-home care for the next few months as well as funeral costs. Any additional funds will be used to pay the numerous medical bills that have accumulated over the past seven months.
Please pray for the Stith Family as they boldly step into this next phase of their journey. And please consider praying about how you may be able to personally help this family financially.
One last thing --- I want to leave you with a video of the Stith Famiy that a dear friend of the family put together for them. The love for one another overflows.
