Melissa Brown

Hi, I am setting up this fundraiser for Melissa Brown. She has had several medical emergencies in the past couple of months that have put her in a place of needing some help. She is a single woman that works hard as a PTA at PIVOT therapy in Milford. Friday 12/16 Melissa fell down her outside steps and broke both of her elbows. She will have surgery on Friday 12/23 on one elbow and the other will heal on its own. Complete healing is estimated at 3 months. She has not been able to be home because she needs help with everything she does. After surgery, she is looking at several weeks off work and then possible part-time work. At this point, she is staying with friends to help her every day. Working towards her being able to go home and care for herself but that requires some adaptive equipment and transportation as she cannot drive.

Before this injury in Nov Melissa had a back injury that put her out of work for a little over a week in excruciating pain. She went to the ER to be treated and with several doses of meds and doctor visits was able to return to work. During her time out she had expenses for a large insurance deductible, partial ER visit charge and out-of-pocket expenses for DRs and prescriptions. She was scheduled for a surgical consult in January to correct her back injury which will now be pushed off till Feb/march 2023 due to her current injury.

This fundraiser will go towards the expenses that have already been incurred such as hospital bills and missing work, future loss of wages and medical bills, and also adaptive equipment needed to modify her home so she can be home and take care of herself safely.
