Hi! My name is Emma, and I need to get something off my chest.

After a nearly a decade of weighing up my options, I've decided to get a breast reduction for a few reasons, including:

- Chronic neck, shoulder and upper back pain

- Autism-related sensory issues preventing me from wearing bras, let alone binders

- Barriers to exercise and free movement

- Dysphoria and body image issues

- Breast sensitivity, pain and galactorrhea

Despite being a medically necessary procedure that would greatly improve my quality of life, it comes with a big price, namely around $12.700 out-of-pocket for the surgeon's fee, anesthetist fee and hospital excess after insurance.

The surgery date is set for the 14th of March 2025.
