King's Road to Recovery

On Saturday, December 16, a heartless criminal in Stockton, CA sprayed bullets at a group of people, hitting multiple - including a 5-year-old. That 5-year-old is our God Son, King.

King is a sweet boy who loves to play football, swim, play video games and he excels in math. A star running back and one of the quickest on his Pop Warner football team, King's daily activity now consists of how to effectively move around in a wheelchair, and when feeling ambitious, how to walk with a walker. He attends daily physical therapy sessions where he is relearning to walk.

King wants nothing more than to have his mobility back where he is used to running and jumping freely and being the talented, passionate athlete that he is. While his progress since this unfair event occurred has been promising, King is being robbed of his childhood and his first big athletic event, out of town football tournaments following a successful championship season.

King's mother, Aakielah Johnson, and their strong support system are providing round-the-clock care for him. Aakielah cannot work during this time and to be honest, has barely slept.

We, King's Godparents, are raising funds to supplement income loss, assist with increased travel costs to and from medical appointments, and support King through this difficult time with gifts to keep his spirits up. Please help us support King and his mother. If you cannot give, your prayers are also needed as this traumatic event has rippled through the family.
