Help Keep a Roof Over Our Heads

Hello everyone, I am asking for your help today to keep the roof over our heads.

My mother will be undergoing surgery at the end of September and has to stay home for recovery, which the doctor is recommending a whole month for. Unfortunately our work place does not offer paid FMLA and mom only has one and a half days of sick leave until December.

It is only my mother and I, and our whole paychecks go towards the bills. At the very minimum I'm asking for what mom makes in a month (about 1,500 in take home pay) to cover the house payment and utility bills that her paycheck goes towards. We do not have enough in savings to cover this, which is why I am coming to you for help.

I will continue to work, but in the event a family member (caregiver) is not available to physically attend to mom during her recovery I may need to go on FMLA myself. I will update the goal amount accordingly should that happen.

Any extra will go into an emergency fund in case she may need to stay home longer, if any complications arise, or if the insurance wont cover the whole procedure. But for now this is the bare minimum we need, until we get billed.

Now for the actual news: Unfortunately, the surgery got postponed. When doing the pre-op, they found an abnormality in Mom's EKG reading, so until she is cleared by a cardiologist, the surgery will be pending until further notice. But it gives us more time to gather more funds! So please continue to share our GFM. Thanks again.
