Sandra (Mom's) health & wellness
Donation protected

Hi everyone! As you know, I am the proud daughter of Sandra Tyndall-Holland. My mom has been suffering from Parkinson's Disease for 28 years now. Over the years my mother has been through two brain surgeries, lost her ability to drive, was prescribed medication that distorted her thinking and reasoning to the point of her having to be hospitilized and put in psychiatric facilities lasting for years, went through a divorce, and faced a plethora of health issues that have affected her ability to walk, stand (she falls constantly) speak, eat (her choking is very common), bathe, dress herself, go to the bathroom, make food, etc.
Despite all of this my mom remains positive majority of the time and is by far the strongest woman I've ever known. My mom spends most of her days reading books (the bible everyday), talking to loved ones on the phone mostly her family in Tennessee and Florida in which it is almost impossible for her to travel to (It's been years since she has) due to the cost of being able to pay someone to go with her to provide care and her extreme pain that happens consistently and makes long traveling extremely difficult.
Fortunately, my mom goes out with her wonderful and helpful friends who will take her to the movies, to eat, and to go swimming (swimming is a miracle for her because it is the one time of her day that her body feels closer to "normal").
In a recent conversation I had with my mom she explained that she felt very sad about not being able to get out of the house and do things often. Anyone who knows Sandra knows that despite all of her hardships she never asks for help (other than the physical assistance for what she needs to be able to live). I could hear the sadness and loss of hope in her voice. It truly broke my heart.
Some weeks she'll get out 3-4 times, other weeks it's once. My mom is limited to her chair most days and I can only imagine the toll this is taking on her mental health and well being, while also having to take around twenty pills a day and being in constant pain. She recently said that she was "ok" with being bored because in her words "if I'm bored that means my pain isn't as bad."
Finally, my beautiful mother feels extreme guilt and sadness because she feels she is a "burden" to her friends and family. This could not be farther from the truth and everytime my brother and I are together we tell her how much we cherish and love her and can't imagine life without her.
What I'm asking for is donations of any type to help my mom afford a caretaker who can get her out to do more activities. Caretakers, especially those who care for people with extremely severe physical disabilities are extraordinarily expensive and my mom does not have the funds to afford one.
This is what I want for my mom: To have someone trustworthy and caring who can take her out, even if it's just for a few hours so she can be outside, go swimming an extra day, get her hair done, or do whatever she can, wants, and truly deserves.
I would like to recognize my brother, Adam who does majority of her care taking and still works and remains kind, funny, and caring. He means more to me than words can express. My dad is also our main support and him and my mother are still close friends who will always love one another.
I would like to raise funds for my mom in the next month.
Writing this is very emotional for me.I love my mom so much and just want her to be as happy, comfortable, hopeful, loved, and active as she can possibly be.
Any donation would mean the world to me and my family.
God bless.
