Simba’s Recovery

Donation protected
Hello :( So Simba is my pup and about a year and a half ago he began to have trouble eating and started to lose weight rapidly. He showed various symptoms of having a tooth infection so I decided to take him to the vet to get it taken care of. He then had his teeth cleaned and even had some extractions and  I was told his problem was fixed. Months later, he started to lose weight rapidly again, stopped eating and has now started to yelp in pain when he moves his mouth a certain way. I decide to take him to another vet, I’m given medication and told the yelping will stop with time ... but his health is still declining so I take him to another vet and get x-rays taken of his head as suggested by a previous doc to make sure his jaw isn’t dislocated as a result of the dental work done to him.

During the year and a half Simba would be fine on and off; sometimes a couple weeks, other times a couple of months and I’d think he’s finally recovering but then suddenly his health drops once again. 4 vets, several visits and $2600+ later i’ve finally found a vet giving me answers but .. i’ve run out of money for vet bills. I’m a full time college student and due to my schedule, find it extremely hard to find a job that allows me to work odd/ specific hours. Every now and then I pick something up but nothing is ever permanent.

( Heres just a few of the medicine containers I have from different vets)

The new vet I’m taking him to did some tests which took me out of my last funds, and I was told Simba has a heart murmur. The issue is way past a tooth infection and he potentially has a bigger underlying issue (mentioned he would either have to have all his teeth removed or it might be a form of cancer forming in his mouth). At the beginning of the month Simba had gained some of his weight back and was doing well but all of a sudden his health has declined rapidly once again. He is currently extremely underweight and is on 4 medications (some for pain, some for his salivating issue) and antibiotics. Given his current state, I need to make a decision as soon as possible. I hate having to ask for donations but it’s either this or having to put him down because at this point thats the last vet bill I could probably barely afford and I just can’t continue to see him in pain. The vet quoted me around $608 for my next vet visit and that’s only to see what’s wrong with his teeth/mouth and to take xrays of his teeth.  I’ve made the goal $1500 because I don’t know how much his recovery will be depending on what the vet finds. If money is left over it will be donated to an animal shelter chosen by those who donate. I seriously appreciate any donation and thank you for reading <3
