Chris Gartland, the husband of one of our classmates (Kathy Suiters Gartland) has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Brain Cancer (Glioblastoma). Chris grew up with many of us and graduated Cardinal Gibbons High School. Anyone that has been through a catastrophic illness is aware of the financial burden that is placed on the family. It is even tougher for Kathy and Chris because Chris was the bread winner of the family, while Kathy stayed home and took care of their disabled grandchild. Chris’ job has treated him well, but just recently Chris was told that he will be placed on short-term disability which will decrease his paycheck by 40%, plus they will have to pay for health insurance. If you can, please help Kathy and Chris with their financial burdens so they can focus on Christopher beating this dreadful disease.
