Saving Gilbert

We are raising money to help save the life of our young friend and hero, Gilbert Gomez. Gilbert is clinging to life in the University of Texas El Paso ICU after tragedy struck Gilbert and his family. A dark SUV approached and carelessly fired shots into a group of young friends.
After hearing shots, Gilbert pleaded for their lives and shielded those around him- ultimately getting shot 8 times himself.
Our good friend, cousin, son, nephew, and grandson is clinging to life as he is preparing for yet another surgery.
In protecting those around him, Gilbert was willing to sacrifice his own life.
This is an extremely emotional time for his entire family. The expenses accrued for life flight, multiple surgeries, and an extended ICU stay, to save the life of our young friend, is overwhelming and he desperately needs our help.
Gilbert is suffering an unspeakable pain for a selfless act and our goal is to help ease the financial worry as much as possible so that he and his family can focus on surviving. Every dollar helps whether it's $1 or $1000 and it will all be used to pay medical expenses and save the life Gilbert was willing to offer to protect his family.
