Help Kevin Get On His Feet
If you’ve ever walked down the steps into The Libertine, then you’ve encountered Kevin. A hard working young man with a heart of gold and a discerning taste for music. Some DJs may call him tough, militant, and sometimes brutally honest, but Kevin just speaks his mind the only way he knows how.
Over the last few years, while working two jobs and going to school, Kevin became not only a most reliable employee, but a great friend. From simply sweeping the steps, to inventory tracking and accounting, he took pride in his work and never left anything unfinished. Loyal and eager to learn, his future is bright, but he needs our help.
Five months ago, just before the city went into lockdown, for reasons unknown, Kevin was shot several times outside his home. Miraculously, he survived. Long sedation, and several surgeries later, Kevin was set to begin his rehab to walk again.
In that time, while hospitals were overrun by the COVID19 pandemic, Kevin unfortunately contracted the virus.
As a result of the several surgeries that took a toll on his body, he was unable to fight it on his own, and was placed on life support and attached to a respirator.
Kevin valiantly fought off the virus, and was eventually taken off life support, but only to encounter eventual heart failure resulting from the several surgeries repairing blood vessels in his leg.
Once again, this young man prevailed!
Gunshots, Covid, Heart Failure. Nothing can stop this man.
Kevin has been in the hospital for over FIVE MONTHS now. Most of that time without any visitors allowed. He is finally being discharged and leaving the hospital on his own two legs THIS WEEK!
Now, more than ever, he needs our help. We understand times are tough for everyone, but please reach down and give what you can to help Kevin get back on his feet. He’s been given a chance to live, against all odds, he just needs us to carry him this last mile and help him get his second life started.
