Kat Galvis Rodriguez's Recovery
Kat is a resilient, hardworking Swarthmore student who is recovering from intensive surgery. She is a first generation college student, low income, and homeless-- the summer is an important time for her to work, but she is unable to do so for over a month while she recovers.
Kat is a poet. She is invaluable to Swarthmore's CUPSI team. Katherine studies political science and sociology; she is incredibly involved in the Intercultural Center both as an intern and as an advocate for marginalized students. Her investment in promoting diversity and inclusion doesn't stop there: Kat is also a member of ENLACE (the Latinx student organization) and works closely with the office of student engagement.
She is a priceless addition to the Swarthmore and Tri-Co communities. Katherine is invested in giving back to a community she feels is her family; after tragically losing her mother earlier this year, she has channelled her energy into improving Swat and making the campus a safe space for everyone.
Kat is one of the most selfless people we know. So, please-- help her out in her time of need. Not only does she deserve to return to Swarthmore, she deserves to flourish.
