John on his journey to live independently.

Please check out this GoFundMe for my friend John. He’s 31, a comedy super fan and a computer whiz. He’s also living with a degenerative neuromuscular disorder called Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 2.

SMA2 is progressive and robs him of his mobility. He uses a wheelchair to get around and depends on 24-hour care from his family. His movement is severely limited and he needs assistance for everyday things that we take for granted. This makes it very hard for him to earn a living.

His dream is to be able to support himself and afford an accessible vehicle, a place of his own and the full-time care needed. He’s working hard to achieve his dream of independence but the cost of accessible vehicles (40-80k), housing, adaptive/medical equipment and care are outrageously expensive.

That’s why I’m asking for your support. Any contribution will go directly to helping John achieve his dream of autonomy. He just wants to be able to live life on his own terms.
