Unexpected Emergency

Donation protected
Tiffany here: first and foremost, I want to thank Pris Wood for setting this up. Initially, I didn't want a fundraiser, I felt a bit embarrassed by it. But after the last 4 months, it's been a huge help.

I've been on disability pay since August (grateful I have this option through my employer) but it's huge cut from what my regular salary is.

Thankfully, I have great medical insurance and have met my out of pocket max. However, I've had required procedures and testing that are not approved by my insurance and I will be paying out of pocket for them. To date over $250,000+ has been billed to my insurance for the first 2 surgeries. The surgery I had today to fix the hardware from the spinal fusion I had on September, has not been billed yet, so tbh, I'm pretty nervous about what those bills will look like.

Any and all donations are a huge help.

Update from Tiffany:
3rd time the charm?

This morining I checked in for my THIRD spine surgery since August, and will be at the Trinity Health Oakland Campus off Woodward thru Thanksgiving. I'll watch the Lions play for a 3rd time this season from a hospital room. Lolol Thankfully, the Lions have been my #1 source of JOY!!

My first surgery on August 25th, was a laminectomy and diskectomy. It failed immediately, and somehow my disc completely reherniated.

I had a second surgery, a spinal fusion, 3 weeks later, on September 15.

Since the fusion, I've experienced complications, new pain, weakness, and instability. Long story short, a screw from the fusion is impeding my spinal colum causing nerve disfunction and when the nerve catches the screw, I experience debilitating pain.

It is my understanding that my surgeon was able to remove the screw in question and place it in the correct position successfully.

Accepting prayers, well wishes, and all the positive vibes.

I appreciate all the people that have reached out in text, messenger, polo. Thanks for those that have visited, and those that helped set up the meal train after my last surgery, which was days before my dad's spinal fusion. My dad is having an awesome recovery and has a new pep in his step. We are so happy about his experience!!

I also appreciate those that have donated to the go fund me, I'm still working on those thank you cards. Thank you all for your continued support.

I'll spend the rest of this year and the winter regaining my strength and stability by walking as much as I can and then eventually starting PT. It's crazy how my body composition has completely changed since August.
