It is with extreme sadness that we are creating this page. We know many people are struggling to find ways to honor or show their love in this trying time. At the request of friends, family, and our terrific community, we have started accepting donations to be used toward memorials to celebrate the life of Dax Theodore. We are still deciding on the project(s) that will be completed and several uplifting ideas are being considered. While your love and support are all we request, any donations would be humbly accepted and promised to be put to good use. While we struggle to seek out the good bits mixed among the chaos, we truly can say that the outpour of love and support has been a beacon to turn to. Updates will be provided on this page as we decide how best to honor and celebrate Dax's memory.
(5/4/23 update) *As I sit here humbled to tears by the outpour of love seen in such a short time on this site, I felt compelled to mention that our plans for the money raised include giving back in ways to the amazing communities that surround us. Talks and ideas have ranged from things like dedicating park equipment, to dreams as large as a Community Park in Dax's name. We cannot explain in words the uplift this positivity is bringing us*
(5/11/23 update) Again I sit humbled to tears by the outpour of generosity, love and support we continue to receive on social media, in person, but especially on this site. While there are still tears of sadness each day, each new day is also bringing tears of optimism and bright beginnings. We came up with a name for the foundation we will be starting in Dax's name. My wife will post on social media and make it sound as poetic and beautiful as it should be sometime next week, but here is my attempt to capture some of it as I felt I owed everyone an update. "The Dax Pact" foundation will stand first and foremost to Live Big and Love Hard. What does it all stand for? Live big stands for being the bigger person at any given moment or situation. For not being held back by little excuses or mundane repetition preventing you from trying a new thing. For stepping back to see the bigger picture so you can focus on the things that matter most to you. If you follow that mantra, take what matters most to you, and combine it with the Love Hard part... that is a little summary of the Pact we hope you all will join us in so that each of us can be better, and do better, each day while we remember and honor Dax. We have all heard the phrase “With great power comes great responsibility”, and its words have a simple meaning. If you have the ability to do something, make sure that you do it for the good of others. With the great power you all are graciously bestowing upon us, we promise to do good for others and continue to do so into the future. In a nutshell, it's a simple way of life the world could use more of, and one I've always instilled in both of my boys' lives. I will continue to do so through my Pact with Dax, Colton and myself, as well as through The Dax Pact foundation. More to come as ideas grow into discussions and give us thoughts of brighter tomorrows. Thank you all immensely from the bottom of our hearts.
