Brain Surgery For My Beautiful Sister, Angie
Donation protected
My beautiful sister, Angie, turned 22 years old this week. In October of 2021, she was diagnosed with a 2cm tumour in the middle of her brain, which is affecting her brains ability to function - resulting in debilitating visual, auditory and neurological symptoms.
Angie is unable to see properly, plagued with constant visual disturbances such as visual snow, extreme distortions and auras, flashes and shaking of her vision. She calls them “brain shakes”. She has episodes of extreme vertigo, dizziness, terrible headaches and weakness, tingling and numbness in limbs, random convulsions, disorientation, memory loss to the point where she can’t remember her last sentence at times, continuous neck and spine pain as part of an array of other complex symptoms.
Angie is a fighter and it’s in her nature not to lie down to this condition. She has been bravely navigating through these symptoms over the last 2 years, and she told me herself that if she is still like this at 22, she wants to get the surgery. Unfortunately her condition has been rapidly progressing and she is worse than we could have anticipated.
She has been forced to drop out of university. She is bedridden most days now and a short walk can take her hours to recover from. These symptoms have rendered my beautiful sister unable to function and unable to enjoy life.
We have tried every option available and seen every specialist imaginable. It’s become clear that our only remaining option and hope for Angie to restore her quality of life is brain surgery to remove the tumour.
The surgeon costs will be $45,000, the hospital costs will be $30,000, plus the costs of flights and accommodation during her recovery period, which she will have to spend in Europe until she is able to fly again. The recovery process can be drawn out post operatively and a month worth of accommodation will be required.
Additional costs associated with flights, accommodation and recovery costs are estimated to be in excess of $35,000.
With hospital, surgical, flights, accommodation and recovery support for Angie, the costs will blow out beyond $110,000.

Angie has an angelic divine soul. She is such a kind, incredible, beautiful person inside and out, with a level of compassion I have never seen before from a very young age. One of my early childhood memories was Angie begging my Mum to adopt babies and young children without homes from all over the world. She always dreamed of starting an orphanage for babies and children in need. She has the biggest heart imaginable.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and prayers. Sending love.
