Paul Overton's Medical Fund

Hello,
Seth Jacobsen here on behalf of my colleague, ski-buddy, mentor, and long-time friend - Paul Overton. Paul means a lot to me and the many people whose lives he has touched by teaching them to love winter and skiing.
As many of you may have heard, Paul's season recently ended very suddenly and frighteningly. On the evening of February 16th, his wife Shirley came home from choir practice to find Paul unconscious on the floor of their home. Come to find out, he sustained a massive seizure - causing him to dislocate his left shoulder in a very traumatic way. So severe was the injury that Paul was transported to St. Luke’s Boise via Life Flight after visiting the great team at St. Luke’s McCall for the night. A big thanks to emergency services!!!
Thankfully, the seizures are able to be controlled by medication. The greater challenge is his shoulder injury. 4 hours of major surgery were required to fix the damaged head of his humorous, torn rotator cuff and ligaments.
This is where your help comes in. Although Paul is in very high spirits and doing everything he can to recover quickly, he is resigned to light activity for up to 5 months. No more skiing, no more driving, and most importantly – no more working for that time. During his recovery, Paul will be sorely missed by the teams at Brundage and Jug Mountain Ranch where he also works as a greens technician in the summer.
I am humbly asking on behalf of Paul and Shirley for your financial support. Any donation you can provide is extremely appreciated and will make a difference for our amazing friend. The total of medical bills and loss of income is not insignificant. The goal is to raise up to ONE MILLION DOLLARS!…… Just kidding!!!!
The goal is $15,000. Together we can do this. Please share this with any and all. I figure that over the past 16 seasons at Brundage, Paul has taught more than 3,000 kids and adults not just how to ski, but how to love skiing for life.
Let’s make sure we get him back to doing what he does best! Many sincere thanks to everyone as we “Rally for Paul”!
FYI… also mark your calendars for “Paul’s Rally” – a fun ski race, silent auction and potluck in honor of Paul. Join us at Brundage on Wednesday, March 23rd, 2016 at 2pm at the Brundage Mountain Ski & Ride School. All friends invited. Contact me below for more information.
Sincerely,
Seth Jacobsen
