XRWA Truck Action at APPEA Support
Today, Carmen and Kelly drove a truck into the entry to the Perth Convention Centre, parked it, climbed onto the roof and locked themselves to each other.
Why? To cause disruption to the APPEA (Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association) conference. Inside, behind closed doors, fossil fuel lobbyists were meeting with paid politicians to plan new fossil fuel developments. We cannot allow new fossil fuel projects, like Woodside's Scarborough development, to go ahead.
By disrupting business as usual, we can protect ourselves and future generations from the very worst impacts of the climate emergency. These kinds of actions are essential for protecting life on earth.
We need funds for:
- Arrestee fines support. Help Carmen and Kelly pay their fines! (around $5400)
- Truck hire, deposit, impound fees and extra charges (to be confirmed: at least $1500)
Any additional funds raised will go towards supporting XRWA in future actions, big and small, that are an essential part of building our movement for climate justice.
Please support our Rebels and our movement!
