Logan's Memorial

Hello!!

My little boy Logan was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and epilepsy early in life due to a very premature birth. He was born at 26w gestation weighing a whopping 2.1 lbs. From day 1 he fought devastating challenges. His fight to overcome the things doctors said he wouldn't be able to do. He helped me overcome my fears and feelings of what I thought I wouldn't be able to do. I learned how to not just fight along side of him but to fight for him.

Over the 8 years he was alive I became what others viewed as his hero. The truth is he was always mine. I went from a scared fearful mom to one that made specially doctors go though my interview process before I allowed them to become a part of his care team.

I promised him I would fight the fight every day that he did. I kept my promise for the 8 years and 2 months that he did.

logan made such an impact to those around him even without the ability to walk, talk, eat or breathe well on his own. He had a unique ability to leave such a huge footprint in this world, without ever standing on his own. He said so much without ever having the ability to talk.

Early this month he became very sick, which lowered his threshold to fight epileptic seizures. I successfully saved him four times in his life when his body gave up.The fifth time I was unable to despite my prior success, I had to come to accept there was nothing I could have done differently or better that was going to save him.

I will miss my battle buddy for the rest of my life. Donations will go toward the cost associated for a proper goodbye. Thank you everyone for helping me go through this grievance without the added financial stress. I now know what it feels like to be fought for..
