The Sylvester Family

Hi, my name is Malory Teegarden and I am a close friend of Kara and Bryan Sylvester and their sweet family of six children.

Recently it was discovered that their beloved family home of 15 years tested positive for mold toxicity. A further inspection found it to be extensive throughout the entire home, not just in the walls, floors, HVAC, but also in a majority of their belongings. This has been a devastating and huge loss.

On January 9th, their family of 8 had to evacuate out of the home immediately, taking only a few bags of clothes. The last few weeks they have had to live split up amongst neighbors and family homes. They will have no home of their own for the foreseeable future as their home is being fully gutted, remediated, and rebuilt.

Very few belongings can be saved. The majority of their possessions have filled four dumpsters. This is equivalent to a house fire, however their home owner’s insurance is unlikely to cover much, if any of the damages and loss.

Proceeds of this GoFundMe will go to replacing things that had to be disposed of, such as mattresses, bedding, dressers, piano, toys, vacuum cleaner, their couches and many many many other items. It will also help cover costs of remediating and replacing all flooring and most of the walls. And so much more.

My hope is that we as a community can come together and help our dear friends through this very difficult and stressful time. Both Kara and Bryan actively serve our community and pour from their hearts and hands into ours. Kara is an IBCLC (lactation consultant) of 16 years, who has supported hundreds of mamas, babies, and their families with such tender and compassionate care, going above and beyond. Bryan is a local police officer of 19 years, working long hard hours to serve, protect, and make our community safer.
