RMS for Riverside Park Conservancy '23

Tax deductible
This year the Parent Voice has selected the Riverside Park Conservancy as the beneficiary of our Global Philanthropy Project. The Riverside Park Conservancy, a non-profit organization dedicated to the upkeep of gardens, playgrounds, dog runs, tennis courts, and other community areas, works to preserve the natural landscape and monuments of one of our city’s most iconic parks.

Our mission this year has two parts: this month, we will raise money for Riverside Blooms, covering the cost of plantings that the children will be able to see throughout the spring and summer; then, in the spring, RMS’s students will volunteer in the park with the Conservancy team to spread mulch in flower and tree beds near the school. Before the volunteer project, students will get a special visit from a Conservancy staffer to learn more about the science behind mulching and teachers will have ample opportunities to connect the project to their lessons.

We hope that our students will be able to understand the value of planting and caring for our natural urban landscape, while seeing our community's contribution lead directly to beautiful gardens. The Conservancy depends solely on private donors to do its work. Nearly half the cost of caring for Riverside Park is met through donations to the Conservancy. Please consider contributing to help maintain Riverside Park, which has played such an enriching role in our children's school lives!
