Help Buddy in his end-of-life care
Donation protected
Buddy is the most amazing cat I’ve known.
He is a good-natured, intelligent, and always surprising beast. I could tell you stories about how attuned we are to each other. He's been happy most of his life, and I want the best end-of-life care that I can find for him. That time is coming very soon. He may have a few more days or possibly longer, but not much.
As a lot of you know, I lost my job recently, and now I am struggling to meet my basic expenses. Buddy's outstanding medical bill is already about $1,000. I've given his current vet over $700 in the past three months. There's also been the cost of insulin (he's diabetic) and prescription food. All this has been overwhelming, and I've been having a very hard time, emotionally and financially.
Most importantly, the estimate to have the vet come to my apartment to help him to die comfortably at home will be about $900. I do not want to have to bring him to the ASPCA for euthanasia. He doesn't enjoy trips to the vet, and this time, he wouldn't get to enjoy the trip home.
I should have posted this weeks ago. I am now trying to raise $1,500 through this GoFundMe in the next 10 days. This is to pay for his end-of-life care, and to reimburse a friend who loaned me the $700 for his recent medical expenses.
I have had amazingly touching moments with Buddy over the last few weeks. Early this morning, he lay down next to my head and was very loving and affectionate. But he's having a very hard time, and I can see we're very close to the end.
It’s hard to ask you all for help, but anyone close to me knows that Buddy has been my closest companion for many years. He’s my family. I want to give him the best care possible in this last phase of his life.
If you can make even a small donation, it would make a big difference. I really appreciate you holding Buddy and me in your thoughts. Thank you.
