Raising Funds for Medical costs

Hi, my name is Jamie Doyle, and I’m setting up a fundraiser for my Uncle Paul McGuinness’s medical costs.

My Uncle Paul is 49 years old and is currently Battling aggressive brain cancer. He had a very big Tumour removed from his brain on April 29th in a private hospital in Portugal. This tumour is known as a Glioblastoma and is the worst kind possible. The surgeons said they removed 95% of the tumour as it was too risky to remove it all being in the brain. The unfortunate thing with a Glioblastoma is that it never completely goes away. We have had Radiation and chemotherapy to try and slow the spreading down. Paul went through this in the months of June July August and September. Paul’s quality of life has dramatically changed with his speech and movement in his dominant side severely effected. We have had speech therapy and physio constantly since May which is all very costly. Paul did not have health insurance set up as he had only moved down to Portugal in late 2021 with his son Christopher to begin his building work down there. It was always Paul’s dream to move to Portugal as he would always say to me he can’t wait for the “blue skies”.

As a family we are now looking into doing Immunotherapy sessions which is in Cologne in Germany. This place is very highly spoken of and would give my uncle a great chance of prolonging the illness. The novel treatment method of the IOZK was initially used mainly in patients with advanced tumour lesions for whom other treatment options had already been exhausted and a complete cure was seldom possible. New studies show that especially the very early use of the tumour vaccine offers the possibility to slow the course of the disease, thereby extending the lifespan and improving the quality of life. It is therefore helpful if patients turn to the IOZK as early as possible on their own initiative.

Every avenue we look into is very costly and any help at all would be appreciated so much.

Paul has touched the lives of so many! An unbelievable Father, Son , Uncle ,Friend. We would like to do everything possible to give him the best chance to fight this horrible disease!
