We have commenced this Go Fund Me page for our gorgeous family member, friend and mate Caleb.
Caleb is a passionate kid, he loves life! He has the biggest heart and loves his family and friends. He is a great and loving son, big brother and is always there to help and support everyone.
He has really focused on his career, Coles and now his Chef Apprenticeship at Brother Chris. His growth as a person since his new role, has hit his newly found new niche in his journey. Caleb has always been a member of his local Fire Brigade, in his younger days in Werribee and now in Mildura running and training, travelling, and becoming a volunteer fighter here in Mildura.
Caleb is a black belt in Rhee Taekwondo and has always loved his sport. He dabbled in AFL, and as a Collingwood supporter, who wouldn't give it a go, but we won’t hold that against him!!!
Caleb was unfortunately in a horrific pedestrian accident on Thursday morning the 29th of April. Caleb was heading from work, just across to the supermarket on an everyday errand. Unfortunately, Caleb was struck by a car and he is currently undergoing treatment at the Alfred Hospital.
Caleb had surgery here in Mildura straight after the accident, to try and relieve the pressure and stop a bleed on the brain, which was successful. He didn’t have any broken bones or other injuries at that point that were determined.
Caleb was then transported to the Alfred where he has had subsequent surgeries and is currently in an induced coma to help him recover, his body relax and heal.
To assist Caleb, he will need Karen, David, Kyle and Tony by his side, he will have costs as part of his recovery and will require care at home once he is able to return. The family will need support both physically and financially on this journey to help with every new challenge and direction they are given to get Caleb back to his very best health possible. The funds that have been donated will assist Caleb with the immediate and long term costs that are incurred. It will assist with his family travelling, accommodation, along with any medical costs, time away from their incomes to care for Caleb and any living costs, out pouring of immediate works that aren't covered to maybe his home or accommodation.
Caleb is still resting with his eyes closed and we are all unaware of the journey that Caleb faces, until he can open his eyes and take each day as it comes, with the medical professionals guiding his journey. This is a process where his sedation will be lessened slowly and his body monitored to make sure no further injuries come to light or develop, while he is being brought out of his coma.
Sandy, Caleb’s Aunty and Kristin, close family friend, have organised this go fund me to help support where we all possibly can, and to have some funds ready to go for this beautiful family. This is a great way for family, friends, colleagues, and acquaintances, to be able to show their support, especially if they are located out of town. This will all contribute to any costs incurred for Caleb's journey, travel expenses, medications, therapy etc. It will also assist for Caleb's family to support themselves financially incase of any surprises, excessive time away from work, or just anything they are presented with.
Anything and everything can help, and we all appreciate your contribution to our fund raiser for Caleb.

Funds will be used for: Assistance for Caleb's Mum and family to be by his side during his recovery, for any uncovered medical expenses for Caleb, renovations or assistance in the home for Karen and David to have Caleb home, travel and living costs while Karen is away from the home etc. As Caleb is over 18 years of age (just) , he is covered for his hospital costs etc. at the moment, but unfortunately Karen and David are not covered for everything. Their accommodation has had to be paid for etc for this first few weeks etc. Them getting backwards and forward to Melbourne etc.
