Volunteer Philippines Mission Trip
In September this year I will be turning 40 and Bri will be 16!! For an early birthday present, on the 7th of July 2015, we're going to the Philippines to volunteer our time to help in the Gentle Hands Orphanage. We really aren't in need of anything...so we thought it would be great to celebrate our lives and love with others that need it...what a cool way to have a party! :)
Daryl and I want to give this sort of an experience to each of our children when they are in the year of turning 16. Take them out of the suburbia bubble.....open their eyes to the world around them....and give them a taste of how others live. Our hope is that this very short term experience will open their eyes to a vast array of opportunities and that they can be become World Changers!
We attend an awesome church (Warnbro Church of Christ) who support a number of organisations who work hard at the forefront of helping people put their lives back together. I grew up in The Salvation Army so this is very close to my heart.
We're raising money to help take supplies to Gentle Hands as we load our suitcases with such items as medicines, vitamins, art and craft, sports gear, baby clothes etc etc. We're travelling with a small team of people and we'll be working in the orphanage for just under 2 weeks. We'll be doing our best to keep everyone posted on our jouney.
Thanks for reading and I hope you can help donate! :D
