Mum's Medical Bills

As some may know, on April 27th 2022, our mum (Norah) had an accident in Turkey.

She fell down a flight of marble stairs and as a result cut her head open leading to 3 brain haemorrhages.

She had fallen into a coma and needed urgent brain surgery to remove the haemorrhaging.

This operation then took place on the 29th April and she was medically induced into a further coma. Slowly she came out of the coma and remained on a breathing machine. At this time her right side was paralysed and she still had bleeding on her brain.

Following this a second operation was needed with a 20% chance of recovering any movement on her right side. This operation then took place on 6th May.

Although the second operation was successful, the doctors have advised that movement on her right side may return with a lot of physio therapy.

Recovery of her cognitive functioning will be a slow and on going process.

But we have seen glimpses of her cheeky, chatty self but the road ahead is long and we will need support and care in restoring her to herself.

Being in Turkey, the cost for medical care is high and although we understand times are hard for everyone with the rise in cost of living etc, we ask that if you can spare a pound or two to help towards the cost of the medical bills we will be eternally grateful.
