Carl Sorensen Memorial Fund
Donation protected
This campaign was created to raise money to cover Carl Sorensen's funeral expenses and offset the financial burden currently placed on his family.
Carl lost his life at the 2015 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on Thursday, June 25, 2015, doing what he loved: racing motorcycles.
Carl was a passionate racer, board member and friend to the entire MRA family. His dedication to the club was unmatched and he has left a hole in the hearts of the entire motorcycle road racing community.
Carl had been road racing for 8 years and had participated in the PPIHC on 2 previous occasions, coming in 10th in the Open category in 2014. He had won multiple championships in the MRA and was consistently a top rider, no matter the bike or class he was racing.
As passionate as he was about racing, he was even more so about his wife, Lacy, his dogs, Baron and Maggie, and his entire race family, including his brother Chris, MRA Track Marshall, Chris' wife Maria, and his son Page.
Carl was the shining, yet serious face that MRA racers would see to tech their bikes each weekend, and it was his exacting standards that helped keep MRA race weekends safe for all riders. His dedication to the club and his fellow racers was obvious by his passion for the rules and safety of all riders.
