zola’s medical bills
Donation protected
hi, my name is hannah and i recently adopted a puppy from a shelter. she’s is a hound mix puppy named zola. within 48 hrs of getting her, she started vomitting and having diarrhea. i took her to an emergency animal hospital that night and they diagnosed her with parvo. parvo is super dangerous for puppies and if untreated, can have a death rate of 91%. the vet recommended she get admitted and stay for 24-48 hours with an estimated total cost of $4000-$6000. she ended up getting a little better, enough to come home. however, the next day she was still inappetent, not drinking, and nauseated. she began vomitting again and the vet recommended she come back and get hospitalized again.
when i adopted her, the shelter told me that she had all the vaccines needed for her age. however she was overdue at least one more dose of the dappv vaccine. the parvo virus must have come from the shelter, and i had no idea this was how my first week with a puppy would look. i had no control of this issue, and now im having to find the means to cover these animal hospital bills plus an isolation solution due to the contagiousness of the dog.
if you feel inclined to donate any amount at all, it would be greatly appreciate! any money i raise will go to these vet bills and hospitalization stays. thank you for any help - spreading the word or donating!
