Fresh Healthy Food For All Of DC

Kyanite Kitchen is a mobile community pantry
that works to provide FREE fresh vegetables,
fruits, vegan food & snacks, toiletries, care packages, and hygienic products to members of the DC community. Many are unaware of the environmental injustices neighborhoods in DC face, including the food apartheids. In wards 7 & 8 of Washington, DC, which are predominantly minority-filled, there’s no access to fresh affordable healthy food within a mile of each neighborhood. Kyanite Kitchen’s mission is to support all of  DC, but especially those living in food apartheid areas with the supplies they need to live a healthier and sustainable lifestyle! We achieve these goals through weekly booth setups at metro stations, parks, and Black Lives Matter protests. We plan to begin delivering groceries to whomever needs them, especially those unable to leave their home due to the pandemic. We have built several community cabinet pantries in neighborhoods for people to take and add food into and hope to put them all throughout DC, Maryland, and Virginia. 

Donations would go towards supporting:

- Food Incubator 
- Purchasing vegan snacks, vegetables, fruit, hygienic products, toiletries, water bottles, groceries, hand sanitizer, masks, tampons, care packages for the homeless
- Delivery fees (uber packaging)
- Gas (delivering groceries)
- Tool set and materials  to build community

- Imperishable food items specifically for
community pantries
