Xzavier Rapp

Xzavier is a brilliant and energetic little boy who will turn 3 in May. He was an early walker, talker, and his coordination, imagination and fine motor skills were beyond impressive. Every person that has ever met Xzavier has been amazed with how advanced this adventurous little boy was for his age. He loved to show you what he could do and made sure you were entertained when he was around you.
On Saturday March 16th, his life would forever be changed. While on a weekend visit with his father Xzavier was shot in the head at pretty much point blank range with a BB gun. The BB entered his forehead and traveled the entire length through his left brain before stopping in the back of his head against his skull. He was life flighted to a children's hospital 4 hours from his home.
Xzavier has been in a medically induced come for a week in hopes of letting his brain rest and to allow the swelling of his brain to decrease. The physicians have had an incredibly difficult time keeping him sedated to achieve this goal. Unfortunately this has been making it impossible to control the pressure in his tiny head. This exceptional baby boy has been fighting from the beginning and continues to do just that. He still needs surgery to remove the BB from the back of his head but more importantly he also needs to have the bone fragments removed that are lodged in the front of his brain as well as cleaning out the point of entry.
This cannot be done until the brain swelling is down enough to decrease the pressure in his head to a safe level to proceed with his surgery. He is unable to move the right side of his body because the BB went through the area in his brain that relays motor and sensory signals to his cerebral cortex. In short, the signals are interrupted or not being made due to the trauma. This precious baby has now developed pneumonia so now he has to fight through that on top of everything else. What we do know, is if this baby makes it to and through surgery, he will need extensive rehabilitation. What we do not know is how long he will have to stay so far from home before he could be transferred to a facility there to continue with his care. We hope by starting this fundraising page we can help offset the financial strain put on the family so the focus can remain solely on Xzavier's needs whatever they may be and God willing a full recovery. The family has held vigil at his bedside this entire time and have been unable to return to work and will continue to do just that. We know thousands of prayers have been sent his way and we thank each and every person who has prayed for our grand baby and ask for continued prayers. We hope that with this fundraiser the financial stress can be set aside or at least be lessened so we can focus 100% on this angel and his needs. Again thank you for all the prayers, past, present, and future and know that we are forever grateful for any donation. We would love to hear a story from anyone who knows our baby man. Whether you are able to donate or not, please tell us a little bit about how you remember him or how he has touched your life with his incredible little personality. I know we have plenty of stories of our own but would love to hear yours ❤️
