Rebecca's Road to Recovery

Family and Friends:
On Tuesday, October 30th, 2018 Bothell Police Detective Rebecca Smith suffered a massive stroke while at work. For those of you who know Rebecca personally, you know how much she does for others, how much she cares for her boys, family, friends, and co-workers. For 10 years, Rebecca has worked tirelessly to serve the citizens of Bothell. She is one of the most hardworking people you’ll meet and constantly volunteers to help others in need and often puts the profession before herself. With all that being said, she is quite an independent woman and most likely wouldn’t ask for help, even when she may need it.
Rebecca is a very private person when it comes to her personal life and she’s not one who would share, hence we are setting this up for her. Her recovery will be a long road with a lot of needs.
Right now Rebecca is still sedated and is asleep, which has made it very challenging for the doctors to get a great understanding of what her road to recovery will be other then it most likely will be long. We are all being very optimistic and are determined to assist Rebecca with overcoming this obstacle in her life. We all know she would deeply appreciate any and all support you can spare, which is why the Bothell Police Guild is participating with this “gofundme page” and will be doing other events in the future to assist with her recovery. Like I said earlier, Detective Smith is a helper and not one to ask for help.
Rebecca didn’t plan for this medical event that suddenly changed her entire future and unfortunately along with that comes challenges with finances to include everyday things such as medical expenses, continued therapy, and various life bills. Most of you know medical expenses can become quite expensive and add up quickly especially when you continue to have everyday normal expenses. Because Rebecca will be going out on disability until further notice, her medical premiums will not be covered indefinitely, creating more expenses for her. Not worrying about the financial burden associated with this massive stroke will help Rebecca greatly through the recovery process. I want to thank each and every one of you that have already helped and continue to help where you can. There are many of you that have provided prayers, hugs, food, transportation, and financial help already.
What can you do / How can you help:
· Continue to provide those prayers and compassion
· Financially we are setting an initial goal of raising $10,000.00 to assist Rebecca with the anticipation of this goal increasing as we learn more of her recovery needs when she wakes up.
Thank you kindly!
