Tracy and Ash wanted to have another baby. When Tracy got pregnant they had no idea the line of events that would follow. They were shocked and excited to find out that they were to welcome two baby boys. Tracy and Ash named them Odin and Tyr. There was a "sprinkle", or small baby shower, planned due to the double arrival excitement. However at an ultrasound appointment, only days before the double baby celebration, there was news that Baby Tyr was doing well, but Baby Odin was not developing as he should. Numerous appointments and meetings with specialists, and many heart breaking hours later, it was confirmed that Baby Odin would not survive after birth. It was highly probable that Baby Odin might not even survive the entirety of the pregnancy.
On Tuesday June 16th 2015, Odin's amniotic sack ruptured. Tracy went to the hospital where they delayed her labor, and scheduled her c-section for the morning on Thursday June18th 2015. Odin was born at 8:58am weighing around 2 lbs. 7 oz. and Tyr was born at 9:02am, weighing in at 4lbs 15oz. Due to the most severe form of brittle bone disease, Odin passed around 9:50am on June 18th, 2015. He was surrounded with love by his family. Their story continues with Tyr needing additional care in the hospital for about 2 weeks due to delivery at 33 weeks gestation, with Mom and Dad still needing to care for 3 year old brother Ares.
Tyr was released to go home after two weeks. The family had a beautiful, quaint memorial for Odin on July 3rd.
Most of all the events have past, but the emotional and monetary processes have just begun for the Snyder family. Ash is working double shifts to make up for previously lost wages and for the upcoming expenses. As a teacher of children with special needs and a corrections officer, Tracy and Ash have dedicated their careers to helping those in our society who need help the most. It is typically unlikely for Tracy and Ash to request monetary donations as they are proud and hard working individuals. It is as friends hoping we can achieve this goal here, so that they can spend more time together today and tomorrow to heal and accept what their family has endured, instead of worrying about the memorial and medical bills to come. Thank you and we appreciate your time and donations so much.
