Penney Rosenblad: Fighting Cancer Fundraiser

Donation protected
Hi Everyone! My name is Claire, and I’m the mother of the beautiful woman in this picture, Penney. She is the oldest of my four children and was the first blessing in my life that gave me the miracle of being a mom. She’s also the mother to her wonderful daughter, Cheyanne, a girlfriend of nine years to Bill and a stepmom to his amazing daughters. Unfortunately, this past December we received the news that no mother ever wants to hear. Penney was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer.

The stage Penney is currently in is not curable meaning it has spread to different organs and bones outside of her breasts including her chest, back, lungs, and brain. To keep the tumors from growing, she has been put on chemo for the rest of her life, among other treatments including PT, radiation, and various doctors appointments. Although this stage is lifelong, she has and will continue to put up a fight to go against the impossible. In the picture above, Penney was ringing the bell because she was done with her first round of radiation.

Penney was an EMT for twenty-three years. For those who don’t know her story, her daughter, Cheyanne, had a severe incident at a very young age and that’s when Penney realized she wanted to learn everything about the medical field so she could protect her loved ones if the time ever came. Fast forward all these years and she has saved hundreds of lives, protected strangers and loved ones, and put her all into being the best EMT she could be. In one of her last runs on the road, she fractured her pelvis in two different places and this was when she realized she could no longer be an EMT while sick. Due to her bones being so weak, there were several job functions she couldn’t do anymore. On top of getting cancer, losing her job, and dealing with the emotional timelines this disease provides - this experience has not been easy. Thankfully, her company has offered a part-time desk job that she can do once or twice a week when strong enough, so she has the energy to keep moving in some way.

Penney has experienced many lives over her years, and those who know her, know that this isn’t her first life hurdle and won’t be her last. Over the years, she has also overcome suicide and battling depression, which at one point she didn’t know if she’d fight through which only shows her true strength to this day. Through her strength, she has shown all of us that true change exists with enough heart and those you surround yourself with. Penney is surrounded by so many wonderful people, both family and friends and has been supported in ways we could never express.

Losing her job on top of endless medical bills and living expenses has put a dent in her and her family's life. Struggling to keep up with monthly bills, medical bills, prescriptions and traveling to make sure she stays on top of this disease, it has finally come to a point where we’d like to open a Go Fund Me for those who are open to donating. To those who can donate and support, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts and we will do what we can to make sure you feel the love. To those who are unable to, please do not feel upset. A quick share of this post means the world as well!

No matter the hardships Penney has experienced, her smile lights up the world and her love is contagious. Her motto of “everything happens for a reason” is getting us through this and will continue to be our motivation to fight the impossible. We will continue to update everyone on the progress, where the funds go, and ways we can give the love back. In the meantime from the wise words of Penney “F*** Cancer, I’m taking her out”

Jersey girls don’t go out with a fight ;)
