Help Marirose fight Breast Cancer

In September 2021 Marirose was diagnosed with Stage II Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC) Breast Cancer. She will be off work for several months or more as she is having to face a radical Mastectomy of the left breast. In August this year she discovered a lump. She proceeded with a mammogram, then ultrasound, which the findings were a total of four lumps. This was shocking! To add to her distress, she was advised her health insurance does not cover many of the cancer treatment services she needs, such as a PET scan!

At this point she will have radiation after the surgery and possibly chemo, depending on the biopsy of the lump in her chest wall (which they cannot do until the breast is removed, because of the possibility of puncturing of her lung).

 

Since the news, Marirose has had to move in with her family to eliminate housing expenses, while trying to cope with the overwhelming mixed bag of emotions.

 

By day Marirose is an RN and works in the ER department. She has been kicking ass working the front lines, picking up extra shifts during the pandemic. Due to recent extreme fatigue she has had to cut her hours and has scheduled her family leave. Many also know her as a talented singer-songwriter and often performs on stage as both a solo artist and full band as Marirose & the Gypsies or as Stevie Nick’s in her Fleetwood Mac Tribute Band called “Mystic Moon”.

 

We are asking for financial support to cover her medical expenses, lodging for treatments and loss of wages so that she can stop worrying about finances and focus on the fight of her life! Many who have known her for years, many have just met her and all who come into her presence fall in love with her. Beyond her musical talents, Marirose is an amazing mother, daughter, sister to many friends, great listener, compassionate & supportive,  ALWAYS puts others before herself, she’s just beautiful inside and out!
