Brain Surgery Recovery ❤️
Donation protected
Hi,
The initial GoFundMe was set up after my daughter and her two children were hit by a reckless driver on 9/23.
**Update from Danielle 11/2/23
My family and I were involved in an accident in Chapel Hill back in late September. My son, Maverick, was in the car and was severely hurt. He broke his tibia and his fibula. He is currently in a wheelchair. The team of doctors at Vanderbilt ran thorough CT scans to make sure we didn’t miss anything. One of the CT found a spot on his brain. After imaging/testing, were told it is a cavernous malformation on his brain. Typically, people can live with them and not know they are there and it doesn’t cause any problems. However, in his situation, it is very problematic. I have been keeping this between close friends and family until it was something we had to worry about. Our situation currently stands here: This cavernous malformation sits in between 3 different parts of his brain which control: spine/nerve functions, motor functions, and since it’s sitting on the right side of his brain, it could possibly cause him to be paralyzed on the right side, if left untreated. With that being said, between his 1st MRI and his 2nd MRI, the malformation has grown and we are almost positive it has grown again since the last MRI. If we don’t take action soon, he could lose the ability of functions in his body (as mentioned above.) The risks of getting surgery are less than leaving it alone My son’s father and I have decided to proceed with surgery. Maverick will be having brain surgery on November 21st. His recovery time could be 2 weeks or longer. Maverick will need 24/7 consistent care during this time which means we are having to take more time off of work to be there for him. Based on the severity of our situation(s), we are really struggling to financially provide for our family. We are asking for our community’s help to keep us on our feet during this trying time. Please please please donate if you can. If you financially can’t afford to donate, you can still help us by sharing and spreading the word. Thank you all so much in advance. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers over the new few weeks and the weeks following surgery. We’re really going to need it❤️
