Let's Bring Kim Stevens Home!

My dear friend Kimmi is understandably feeling very sad, sore and sorry for herself. Kim has stage 4 mets breast cancer and has been doing her best to enjoy her remaining time with her nearest and dearest. On a supposedly quick visit to Sydney to see Coldplay with one of her sons, she instead has wound up in hospital with gastro and an abdomen full of blood clots and unable to fly for 3 months.

She is now trapped in isolation in a hospital in another state with her birthday this weekend and a grand baby due in a couple of weeks. Her husband has had to leave work and fly over to be with her.

When she is well enough to be released, it is looking like they will need to hire a car and drive over and get accommodation along the way as there is even risk of clots with driving so slow and steady wins the race. With the hire car, petrol, food, and accommodation costs, it is looking to be an unexpected cost of about $10,000 which is not planned, wanted, or needed in such awful circumstances.

Even if the circumstances change, this can alleviate the pressures of her husband Bill being out of work and the unexpected flights and accommodation costs if they need to stay for an extended time.

I am asking simply that anyone that can spare anything toward the trip home would be appreciated by all of us to get her back home with her supports to rally around her. It also gives us all something we can do to help, rather than feeling powerless. If there is anything any of us can do right now to even ease the pressure slightly, let's do this. If we can even rally around and get half of the estimate, it will ease the burden of this shitty time! Thanks everyone for even considering my request
