Saving Madelynn
Donation protected
The worst fear for a parent is to hear a doctor say your baby has cancer. Your world stops turning, your life gets put on hold and you wonder how something as precious as Madelynn could get such a rare form of cancer; retinoblastoma.
At 5 months old she was getting her first round of chemo. She wasnt learning to crawl, she was laying in her hosptial crib, swollen eyed, tubes in her chest, and still a smile on her face.
She went 6 months of eye exams under anathesia follwed by her chemo treatments lasting two days.
The tumors in her eyes did shrink after the first 4 rounds of chemo. Howevever after those rounds of chemo there was new growth in her left eye. Maddys team formed a plan to start doing intra arterial chemo which is a procedure where the thread a catheter threw her femeral artery into the back of her eye and deliver a form of chemo that way. This did not work and only made the tumors grow more.
Since the tumors grew more and so rapidly she had to have her left eye removed.
Any donation for Maddy is appreciated no amount is too small and if you can not donate money than prayers are always needed. Thank you
Love Madelynn and her family!
