Help Save Tiggy!

Nicholas (Nick) Kurek’s 18-and-a-half-year-old cat Tiggy has some challenging health issues. Nick’s mom saved Tiggy when he was a kitten as the mother was killed by dogs. Her boyfriend was allergic to cats, so Tiggy lived with Nick, even though his mom considered Tiggy her cat. Being his mom's cat but living with Nick since he was a kitten makes Tiggy even more precious to Nick since his mom’s passing a decade ago. Nick has both autism and epilepsy plus other health ailments that complicate life. Over the past several years, Nick’s disability has grown more severe, and his income relies almost entirely on Social Security Disability. Tiggy is a major source of mental and emotional support for Nick.

Tiggy has heart disease, hyperthyroidism, stomach, and bowel problems. Tiggy takes seven different medications. These must be mixed into Tiggy’s costly Delectables® treats to be consumed properly. Vet appointments and medications are expensive. Tiggy recently made a miraculous recovery from what appeared to be catastrophic heart failure and is currently doing quite well. Nick is going through the hardest time of his life and really needs Tiggy now--but Nick does not have the funds to pay for Tiggy’s medications and vet bills.

Nick is looking to sell his condo and find a place to live that would be more affordable for him and Tiggy. Nick is also seeking work with an employer who will provide him with the accommodations he needs for his disability, at which point he would once again be able to pay for Tiggy’s medical bills. Can you please help Nick keep Tiggy with him through this crisis, or at least help ensure Tiggy has a decent quality of life for his remaining days?

All funds are deposited in a trust fund managed by a trustee for Nick as his parents are both deceased.
