Koda needs surgery - he needs your human help!

Hi from Carl, Teddy & Joey, close canine friends of Koda. Koda needs surgery right away. He used to live on the Navajo reservation where we think he was hit by a car. He was hurt bad, and the bones fused together wrong. Surgery is scheduled on his knee cap (patella) and fractured bone. He is in constant pain. Without the surgery he can't walk or play and he will be sad and suffer all the time.

Our mom's friend Barbie adopted Koda when he was 5 months old. He is 3 years old now. Take it from us, Koda is one of God’s gentlest creatures and the light of Barbie’s life. There is no more generous soul than Barbie - with Koda her constant companion. We know that from experience because Barbie took the photo below when she was taking care of us.

Koda and Barbie started training to be a therapy dog pair. But they couldn’t finish because Koda's leg and hips hurt too much.

Together, Barbie and Koda consistently go the extra mile helping others through tough times - with their families, animals, health and more. They add light and happiness to others. If you are reading this, it's likely they helped you too.
