Help Kristy Keep Her Home

I am raising funds for Kristy Schackart to keep her home while she is in a nursing facility for physical therapy. Some of you will remember how we raised funds for her apartment in 2019. I am so happy to report that Kristy was able to rent a nice apartment that met her needs. So many of you made this possible and we are all grateful for your support.

Kristy became very ill several months ago and was hospitalized and put on a ventilator. While in the coma, the hospital failed to put the boots on her feet that would have prevented her from getting "drop foot". Consequently, her physical rehabilitation is taking far longer. Her apartment is upstairs and she needs to be able to walk up the stairs in order to go home. Medicare/Medicaid has strict rules about how long they will pay for rehabilitation in a nursing facility. As of November, her small government check will go directly to the nursing facility. She is desperate to keep her apartment. She has mast cell activation syndrome which makes her highly allergic to common everyday items. Her apartment was the only one she found that she did not have a severe allergic reaction to. Plus, the apartment is close to her caregiver and in the neighborhood where Kristy grew up.
