This request for assistance is on behalf of Dieuseul Jeudi; JD to his colleagues and friends.

JD has worked as a member of the Banquet Set-Up Team at the Ocean Reef Club for over twenty-five years. Working in Set-Up is a physically demanding role. This team does the heavy lifting necessary to create fantastic events for our members and their guests all across our 2500-acre Club community. They are our Marines, the first in and the last out of every event.

JD is a standout on our team. He is responsible, resourceful and a dedicated leader who takes pride in everything he does.

On New Year’s Day JD went to the Emergency Room with an extreme headache following his full day on the job. His blood pressure was very high and he was admitted. On Monday, January 2nd JD suffered a stroke and was immediately sent into surgery. He had been in recovery at Baptist Hospital and was released to his home on Sunday, January 21st. JD has a long way to go in terms of recovery and is now beginning his therapy.

Our Club has stepped up and The Ocean Reef Community Foundation has provided a generous grant to JD and his family but unfortunately, there is a further need. I have set a goal of $8,600 which is what remains to keep JD’s income whole for twelve weeks. This goal does not include any of the medical bills he has incurred or will continue through therapy. Anything you can do to help unburden this man and his family so that he can focus on recovery would be very much appreciated.
