Christian's Funeral Expenses

Hi everyone, it is with extreme sadness and resignation that we are making a GoFundMe page for my nephew, Christian. He passed away July 7th, 2023 at Inova Fairfax hospital after fighting a tough battle against late stage germ cell cancer. Christian was 24 years old and in a matter of weeks the cancer invaded his organs. Christian had a whole life ahead of him and it was cut short—leaving us all heartbroken. Although Christian was always reserved and quiet, he enjoyed the small things in life. He enjoyed the beach, pizza, pupusas, video games, a good movie, chocolate, horchata and had an eclectic taste in music. He was hardworking, dependable and talented. Christian will be missed by us all but we are thankful for the good times and for being blessed with him as part of our family. Christian was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend. He fought until the very end and never gave up or complained, in true Christian fashion. We know that he is no longer suffering and will live in our hearts and minds forever. All the funds collected will go towards the funeral and burial expenses. Any and all help is appreciated. Any additional funds will be given to his mom and used to spread awareness for testicular cancer in young men.

More than a fundraiser, it is my most sincere wish that one day people in our country can seek and receive medical care without the fear of not having health insurance and the cost associated. Testicular cancer has a 97% rate of treatment success. Our Christian fell into the unfortunate 3%. We hope other families, particularly young males ages 15- 34 educate themselves on this type of cancer, speak up early and get checked to avoid the same fate. Our family is devastated. We are heartbroken and sincerely believe that this was preventable. We lost a beautiful soul full of love, talent and compassion and don't wish to see other families experience the same.

Hola a todos, con tristeza y resignacion estamos creando una página de GoFundMe para mi sobrino, Christian, quien falleció el 7 de julio de 2023 en el hospital Inova Fairfax después de luchar una dura batalla contra el cáncer de células germinales en etapa avanzada. Christian tenía 24 años y en cuestión de semanas el cáncer invadió sus órganos. Christian tenía toda una vida por delante y se truncó, dejándonos a todos desconsolados. Aunque Christian siempre fue reservado y tranquilo, disfrutaba de las pequeñas cosas de la vida. Le gustaba la playa, la pizza, las pupusas, los videojuegos, una buena película, el chocolate, la horchata y tenía un gusto ecléctico por la música. Era trabajador, confiable y talentoso. Todos extrañaremos a Christian, pero estamos agradecidos por los buenos momentos y por ser bendecidos con él como parte de nuestra familia. Christian fue un maravilloso hijo, hermano, nieto, sobrino, primo, amigo. Luchó hasta el final y nunca se rindió ni se quejó, al más puro estilo de Christian. Sabemos que ya no sufre y vivirá en nuestros corazones y mentes para siempre. Todos los fondos recaudados se destinarán a los gastos del funeral y entierro. Cualquier y toda ayuda es apreciada y fondos adicionales se le darán a su mama y utilizado para aumentar la conciencia sobre el cáncer testicular en hombres jóvenes.

Más que una recaudación de fondos, es mi más sincero deseo de que algún día las personas en nuestro país puedan buscar y recibir atención médica sin el temor de no tener un seguro médico y el costo asociado. El cáncer testicular tiene una tasa de éxito del tratamiento del 97%. Nuestro Christian cayó en el desafortunado 3%. Esperamos que otras familias, en particular los hombres jóvenes de 15 a 34 años, se eduquen sobre este tipo de cáncer, hablen temprano y se hagan un chequeo para evitar el mismo destino. Nuestra familia está devastada. Estamos desconsolados y creemos sinceramente que esto se pudo prevenir. Perdimos un alma hermosa llena de amor, talento y compasión y no deseamos que otras familias experimenten lo mismo.
