Hurricane Laura Relief Fund

On August 27, 2020, my family and I were devastated by one of the strongest storm to ever make landfall in Louisiana. Currently, there is no water, electricity, and gas in Lake Charles. City officials have predicted that it might take weeks or even months before citizens have these essentials. My home have experienced a significant amount of damage and I'm currently not working due to the aftermath of Hurricane Laura.  FEMA provided my family with $500 which only covers 2 nights at the hotel we're residing in. We were unsuccessful in securing hotel vouchers and shelters are currently filled. I created this fundraiser to ask for a helping hand on behalf of my aging parents, young sister, and I. We are surviving on our savings but it is dwindling due to expensive hotel expenses as well as food and gas costs. Creating this fundraiser was very difficult because I'm an independent person who hates being a burden to anyone, but this disaster has put me in a position of helplessness. If you feel moved to help, my family and I will forever be grateful.
