Yer Yang's Funeral

Let me tell you about my brother, Yer Yang, aka "Blur". Growing up with him, Blur was the brother you would "love to hate". He enjoyed getting on your nerves, would hit you for no reason, and enjoyed to make you cry endlessly.
He was only 37 years old. He was wise, full of life, compassionate, and very active within the community/church. As a veteran fisherman, He was a great fisherman; He loved his ice fishing. He would spend his time teaching his oldest son, the right of passage to fishing.
He was a devoted father, loving husband and will be severly missed by his family and friends. He cared deeply for others and was the lighthouse to those around him. He always took care of others rather than let others take care of him. His strong passions seen through his music, cooking, fishing, and love for his family.
His cooking was unbeatable and unforgettable, throwing ingredients together, not following a recipe. He lived life the same way, taking it as it came. His laughter will continously be heard among us, his calmness soothing us still.
On Sunday, Father's Day, we recieved a message that Blur suffered a severe stroke and was not doing well. The blood vessels in his brain ruptured and caused major swelling. The doctors removed a portion of his brain and blood clots to stop the bleeding. Unfortunately, the swelling had done irreversible damage to his brain. With much prayers and conversations, he was placed on palliative care and passed away on June 30th. Due to his pre-existing conditions, he didn't qualify and was unable to get life insurance.
He is loved by so many people. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, 4 kids (9, 6, 4, and 3 years old), his church (Hmong Alliance Church of Oshkosh), and family (7 brothers & 4 sisters). Funeral services will be updated as to when and where.
Family and Friends who are not able to attend Yer's funeral but would still like to support us during this difficult time can do so through our page here. Your support is appreciated and it is comforting to know that he is loved and has touched your life in a positive way. Even with his short time on earth, his positive shining spirit will continue to live within each of us who remember him for the life he's lived, as I know that he's touched many lives.
He is no longer with us, however, he still has the last word, as he has the ability to still make his family cry from our deepest souls. Heaven's gained another angel. We know that he's with mom and waiting to welcome us, when our time has come.
In lieu of flowers, you may contribute to the link.
Sincerely,
