We humbly request your assistance in helping our brother Yakob Habtesion beat cancer.

Yakob is a loving husband; a doting father to his four beautiful children ages 13, 11 (twins) and five (5); and an awesome brother and son. Anyone that knows Yakob knows he is a family man with a heart of gold. He is selfless and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone without expecting anything in return. He is currently fighting for his life and now needs our help. 

In May of 2016, Yakob was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer which had spread to his lungs. Determined to beat the cancer, Yakob has received several rounds of chemotherapy treatment in the past year and a half with mixed results. Test results have shown some progress in the cancer origination area but the chemotherapy does not seem to be as effective in treating the tumors in his lungs. In addition, the chemotherapy has multiple severe side effects that, at times, have caused him to be hospitalized. No matter how daunting it may be, Yakob continues to fight this tough battle he and his family know all too well. In 2010, his then 6-year-old son was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma – a rare form of childhood cancer. His son was able to successfully beat his cancer a few years ago and Yakob plans to do the same with your help and prayers.

While the chemotherapy kills cancerous cells, it does not differentiate between healthy and cancerous cells. Consequently, the treatment has taken a toll on his immune system as well as his family's quality of life. Witnessing the day-to-day impact on him and the children, motivated his wife Rahel, to search tirelessly for alternative treatments. As a result of her research, we’ve recently become aware of another treatment option, Lentzloc (an immune-based non-toxic cancer treatment). https://www.int-imm-foundation.com/en/your-diagnosis/your-diagnosis-metastatic-cancer.htm .

Lentz-Loc is a non-toxic alternative for immunological cancer treatment. It is currently approved in Germany with a high success rate. Each treatment can cost up to €55,000 ($66,000) and most patients receive three treatments that have yielded positive results. In order to receive the treatment, Yakob will have to travel to Germany for several months. The treatment has not been approved in the United States and therefore is not covered by his health insurance.

His family has come together to ask for your help in raising funds for this treatment to help Yakob continue the fight.

ኣብ ጉንበት 2016, ያቆብ ኣብ ራብዓይ ደረጃ በጺሓ ናብ ሳንቡኡ ዝተዘርግሐት ብኮሎን-ካንሰር እትፍለጥ ሕማም ከምዝተጠቕዐ ብሕክምና ተሓቢሩዎ:: ኣብ ዝሓለፈ ዓመትን-መንፈቕን: ዝተፈላለየ ብናይ ቅመማዊ ኪሞተራፒ (chemotherapy) ዝፍለጥ ሕክምና ከካይድ ጸኒሑ:: ዘዕግብ ውጽኢት ግን ኣይረኸበሉን::  ብሰንኪ'ቲ ናይ ቅመማዊ ኪሞተራፒ  ዘምጽኦ ጎናዊ (ኣሉታዊ) ሳዕቤን: ያቆብ ኣብ ዝተፈላለየ እዋን ኣብ ሆስፒታል ተዓቚቡ ኔሩ::  ክብደት ናይ'ዚ ሕማምን እቲ መድሃኒት ዘምጽኦ ተወሳኺ ሳዕቤንን ብዘየገድስ: ያቆብን ስድሩኡን ንሕማም ካንሰር ንምብዳህ ለይትን-መዓልትን ይቃለሱ ኣለዉ:: ኣብ 2010 ዓመተ-ምህረት: ሓደ ካብ ደቂ ያቆብ ወዲ 6 ዓመት ምስኣኸለ: ኣብ ራብዓይ ደረጃ ዝበጽሐት ብኒዩሮብላስቶማ ትፍለጥ (Stage 4 Neuroblastoma) ንህጻናት/ንቆልዑ ጥራይ ተጥቅዕ ፍልይቲ ዓይነት ናይ ካንሰር ሕማም ተጠቒዑ ኔሩ:: ቅድሚ ቁሩብ ዓመታት: ወዲ ያቆብ ንሕማም ካንሰር በዲሁ ሓዊዩ:: ያቆብ'ውን ኣብ ትሕቲ እግዚኣብሄር ፈጣሪ ብሓገዝኩምን ጸሎትኩምን ምሳኹም ኮይኑ ንሕማም ካንሰር በዲሁ ከምዝሓዊ ኣይጣራጠርን ኢዩ::

ሽሕ'ኳ እቲ ብቅመማዊ ኪሞተራፒ ዝወሃብ ሕክምና ነቶም ብካንሰር ዝተጠቑዑ ዋህዮታት ደም እንተቐተሎም: ነቶም ጡዑያት ዋህዮታት ደም'ውን ኣልሚሙ (ብሓባር) ስለዘጥቅዖም: እቲ ጎናዊ (ኣሉታዊ) ሳዕቤን ናይ'ቲ መድሃኒት ንጥዕና ያቆብን ነቲ ሂወት ናይ'ታ ስድራን ጎኒ-ጎኑ ይሃሲዮ'ዩ ዘሎ:: እቲ መዓልታዊ ስቓይ ናይ በዓል-ቤታ ኣስተብሂላን ንሰብኣያ ሓቦ ንምስናቕን ራሄል ሰይቲ-ያቆብ ለይትን-መዓልትን ዝሓሸ ናይ ሕክምና ኣማራጺታት ካብምንዳይ ዓዲ ኣይወዓለትን::
