Yardie Ting's second location
Donation protected
My name is Shanna-Kay Wright. I am a female entrepreneur, chef, and single mother of two children. I am of Caribbean roots which inspire the cuisine on the menu of my own Caribbean restaurant called Yardie Tings; it is located at 28 Monument Square in Portland, Maine. The current location is a shared small space and cannot handle the patronage. I would like to expand to another location that will allow for the growing demand and to include space for guess seating in a relaxed environment.
I moved here in 2005, as I adjust to my new home, I quickly saw a need in my community for a Caribbean restaurant and started to fill that niche.
The funds that are raised will be used for the renovation of the new location, which will begin next February of 2021. I have sourced a new location that requires layout changes and equipment purchases as I undertake renovations. Your donations will be used for the build-out of the restaurant because it is a blank canvas, the purchasing of appliances, and other fixtures for the restaurant. This will allow for a spacious, warm, and inviting environment for customers.
Your donations will mean a lot to me because it is in support of the expansion of the Yardie Tings restaurant. It will expand my reach to new customers in other areas of Maine. Likewise, my regular customers will be able to have the flexibility to find me at two locations depending on proximity to where they live. Importantly, the Caribbean food flavors and taste will be exposed to more Maine citizens.
I greatly appreciate any donations small or large in support of this effort.
Thanks in advance,
Chef Shanna-Kay
