yardım - Türkiye and Syria Earthquake Fundraiser
After the devastating 2023 earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria, more than 160,000 buildings across Türkiye and Syria collapsed or were severely damaged, leaving millions on the streets in the ruthless winter.
Although it’s been a couple of months, the people still need our help.
We’ve put together a fundraising event at Echo & Bounce in the form of a Turkish-style bazaar during the day, which will sell Turkish marble art products, lamps, decorations, photography books, books, candles, towels and small carpets - with accompanying workshops.
The fundraiser will be soundtracked by selections from some of our local Turkish community here in Meanjin/Brisbane (Sena, Edgé and Eren), as well as a live performance from Atman Okyay & Kemal Caliskan.
This GoFundMe is to help raise funds for people who can't make it on the day - or don't want to purchase anything but would still like to contribute.
The funds raised will be donated to AHBAP and Ideas Beyond Borders.

About Ideas Beyond Borders
Ideas Beyond Borders develops and implements international programs to empower individuals with knowledge often suppressed by authoritarian regimes and dictatorships. This campaign is to assist the underprivileged Syrian Refugees inside Türkiye.
This event is taking place on the unceded sovereign lands of the Jagera and Turrbal peoples. We pay our respects to Elders; past and present and acknowledge that the struggle for First Nations sovereignty and land rights must be central to all our political movements.
