Yarn Bomb For The Alzheimer Society Kildare Branch
There are 64,000 people with dementia in Ireland and the number of people with the condition will more than double in the next 25 years to over 150,000 by 2045.
A diagnosis of Alzheimer’s is life changing for the person with the disease, as well as their family and friends. Thanks to the work of the Alzheimer Society no one has to face the disease alone.
We, the Kildare Yarn Bombers, are a group of volunteers who each June, yarn bomb the Linear Park in Newbridge. Over 1000 knitters and crocheters have contributed to date making it the largest woolly community arts project in Ireland.
This year our display will be installed in memory of those yarn bombers that we lost to COVID, many of whom had Alzheimer’s disease.
Please, support the Alzheimer Society Kildare branch and help us help those living with this disease in our community.
