Community Cancer Support Fund - Yasmeen Williams

Dear Friends and Family of Yasmeen Williams,


It is a blessing to invite you, on behalf of her family and friends, Roadwork , The Enclave Habitat , The Village Church , Christ the King Church , Pilgrim Rest Church , Your Women’s Circle Palm Springs Women’s Jazz Festival  and Sweet Honey In The Rock , to contribute to Yasmeen’s care. This is a powerful moment in Yasmeen’s journey. With your help she has made it as one of the 2% who survive 4th stage pancreatic cancer in 9 years time.  In lieu of all that can happen in our health care system Yasmeen has maintained because of her strong faith, research and support from family and friends, medical trials, and overcoming odds. As of July 2021, the disease has progressed calling for immune system infusions before starting an advanced chemotherapy. Yasmeen had a strong allergic reaction to the chemotherapy so must pursue other directions which are not included in conventional medicines. The out of procket expenses have been astronomical but pale in comparison to choosing life. As she faces the cancer progression, we are in the midst of a still challenging economic, racial and health pandemic, during which she had to relocate to remain safe. This GoFundMe page is a coalition effort from the family roots and community branches of Yasmeen’s life’s journey. Some of you may have been touched by her sonic soul and voice as a member of Sweet Honey In The Rock, as a national gospel soloist, as a supporter of Sisterfire Festival, as a mother, sister, grandmother, writer, activist, gardener and as a woman of faith. Please join us in helping Yasmeen overcome the financial challenges that she now faces as we hope to raise $50,000. The $50,000 we hope to raise will support Yasmeen’s forthcoming medical treatments, transportation, home health care, and the skyrocketing medical bills associated with naturopathic medicines and supplements ranging from $500-$600 per month alone.
