Yasmin Ortega Madrigal

My name is Marcie Rodelo, we are raising funds to Help The Ortega Madrigal family.

Yasmin is the daughter of David Ortega & Maria Madrigal.

On Wednesday, October 19th a 6th-grade student, Yasmin fell off a trail at Camp Elkanah. Immediately staff and the on-site nurse came to her aide. The on-site nurse provided first aid and a physical check. It was decided she should be taken to a hospital in La Grande to be sure she and her injuries were given extensive evaluation and care. Yasmin is a strong girl and wanted to stay at Camp! Once at the hospital in La Grande, doctors ordered scans and found internal injuries. Life flight was called to fly her and her teacher to a bigger hospital in Boise, Idaho. Yasmin's mom and brother drove to Boise, Idaho where emergency surgery was scheduled, but then postponed. After an MRI on Thursday, it was determined that her pancreas was so badly damaged that a specialist in Seattle was needed for emergency surgery. Life flight flew her to Seattle where she immediately went into a 3-hour surgery. Friday morning it was reported that surgery was succesful. Yasmin now has a nasogastric feeding tube and is recovering in Seattle.

El miércoles 19 de octubre, una estudiante de sexto grado, Yasmin, se cayó de un sendero en Camp Elkanah. Inmediatamente, el personal y la enfermera del lugar acudieron en su ayuda. La enfermera en el sitio brindó primeros auxilios y un chequeo físico. Se decidió que debía ser llevada a un hospital en La Grande para asegurarse de que ella y sus lesiones recibieran una evaluación y atención exhaustivas. ¡Yasmin es una chica fuerte y quería quedarse en el campamento! Una vez en el hospital de La Grande, los médicos ordenaron escaneos y encontraron lesiones internas. Se llamó a Life Flight para llevarla a ella y a su maestra a un hospital más grande en Boise, Idaho. La madre y el hermano de Yasmin manejaron hasta Boise, Idaho, donde se programó una cirugía de emergencia, pero luego se pospuso. Después de una resonancia magnética el jueves, se determinó que su páncreas estaba tan dañado que se necesitaba un especialista en Seattle para una cirugía de emergencia. Life Flight la llevó a Seattle, donde inmediatamente se sometió a una cirugía de 3 horas. El viernes por la mañana se informó que la cirugía fue exitosa. Yasmin ahora tiene una sonda de alimentación nasogástrica y se está recuperando en Seattle.
